The Investor Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 8, 2026
The Investor: Investing Game is a fictional, entertainment-only simulation. It does not connect to real brokerage, bank, or cryptocurrency accounts; no real money can be earned; and it does not provide investment advice.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how The Investor: Investing Game (the “App”, “The Investor”, “we”, or “us”) handles information when you use the iPhone application. It covers information stored locally by the App and information processed by service providers that support analytics, advertising, purchases, feedback, reviews, and application updates.
2. Game information stored on your device
The App is offline-first and stores its save data locally on your device. This can include:
- Virtual cash, net worth, stock and cryptocurrency holdings, simulated trades, prices, price history, and market state.
- Construction projects, software developments, cars, repairs, business unlocks, timers, estimated and completed values, and virtual profits or losses.
- Click-to-earn progress, achievements, lifestyle purchases, gameplay statistics, tutorial state, and other progression settings.
- Random simulation state, last-session timestamps, offline progress, comeback opportunities, and safeguards used to prevent duplicate rewards or device-clock abuse.
- Language and theme preferences, feedback-prompt status, and Lifetime PRO entitlement status.
- For Lifetime PRO, the verified StoreKit transaction identifier, purchase time, entitlement status, and whether the one-time virtual cash bonus was granted.
We do not currently operate an account system or cloud save for this game, and we do not upload your complete game save to our servers. Deleting the App may remove locally stored game progress. Restoring a StoreKit purchase can restore the PRO entitlement through Apple, but it does not restore the rest of the local game save.
3. Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used and improve its navigation, balance, stability, and features. The App sends events such as app launches, screen views, visible calls to action, button taps, and non-sensitive gameplay action identifiers. Examples include opening a market, selecting a fictional asset, starting or finishing a business activity, and using purchase or restore controls.
We also send the selected App language, theme, and whether PRO is active as analytics properties. We do not intentionally include your virtual cash balance, complete portfolio, free-form feedback text, real name, email address, or real financial information in Firebase events.
Firebase and the underlying Google Analytics service may automatically process information such as an app-instance or device identifier, App and SDK version, device model, operating system, IP address, approximate location inferred from network information, interaction data, and technical diagnostics. This information is governed by Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
4. Advertising and tracking choices
The free version uses Unity Ads to display interstitial advertisements after certain completed gameplay actions, such as a market sale or a business start or finish. Ad failures do not block gameplay. Lifetime PRO permanently suppresses these forced interstitial advertisements in the App.
Unity may process information needed to deliver, limit, secure, and measure advertisements. Depending on your device settings and consent, this may include IP address, device and advertising identifiers, App and device information, approximate location inferred from network data, advertisement views and interactions, and diagnostic information.
In production, iOS may ask for permission under App Tracking Transparency before advertising is initialized. You may allow or deny that request. You can later change the choice in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security and Tracking. Denying tracking does not prevent access to the core game, although ads may be less personalized. Buying PRO removes forced ads but does not automatically disable Firebase Analytics.
5. Lifetime PRO purchases
Lifetime PRO is an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple processes your Apple Account, payment method, billing information, purchase history, refunds, and transaction verification. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account details.
The App receives the product identifier, transaction identifier, verification and purchase status needed to unlock or restore PRO and to prevent duplicate virtual-cash bonuses. These entitlement details are stored in the local game save. Purchase restoration asks StoreKit for eligible purchases associated with your Apple Account.
6. Player feedback and App Store reviews
If you voluntarily send written feedback, the App submits the text you enter and the fixed App name to a Jotform form. We use it to review suggestions, understand problems, and improve the game. Please do not include passwords, payment information, or other sensitive personal information in your feedback. Jotform may also process network and technical request information, such as your IP address, under its own privacy practices.
If you choose to leave an App Store review, the App opens Apple’s native review experience. Apple processes the review and any information linked to your App Store account. We do not receive your Apple Account credentials through the App.
7. Application updates and network requests
The App may contact Expo’s update service to check for and download compatible application updates. Expo may process technical request data such as IP address, App and runtime version, platform, update channel, and device or request metadata needed to deliver and secure updates. Simulated stock and cryptocurrency prices are generated locally and do not require access to a real financial-market account or live trading API.
8. Information the App does not request
The App does not require an account or login and does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, precise location, health data, or real brokerage and banking accounts. Virtual holdings, business results, and income shown in the game are gameplay data, not records of your real finances. Apple may process payment information independently when you choose to make a StoreKit purchase.
9. How information is used
Information described in this policy is used to:
- Operate, save, restore, and secure game functionality.
- Deliver simulated markets, timers, offline progress, and rewards.
- Measure feature usage and improve design and game balance.
- Display, limit, and measure advertising in the free version.
- Process, verify, and restore Lifetime PRO.
- Receive feedback, support players, and diagnose technical issues.
- Deliver updates, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
10. Service providers
- Google Firebase — application analytics.
- Unity — interstitial advertising and ad measurement.
- Apple — StoreKit purchases, restoration, App Store reviews, and platform services.
- Jotform — optional player-feedback submissions.
- Expo — application update delivery and related infrastructure.
These providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their processing is governed by their own policies and applicable contractual and legal safeguards. We do not sell your personal information. Advertising providers may process or share data for advertising and measurement as described in their policies and subject to your available consent and opt-out choices.
11. Retention and deletion
Local game information remains on your device until it is overwritten, cleared by the operating system, or removed when you delete the App. Locally stored PRO transaction information remains with that save, while Apple retains purchase records under its own policies so purchases can be verified or restored.
Submitted feedback is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to review it, improve the App, resolve related issues, and meet legal obligations. Analytics, advertising, update, and transaction data are retained according to our configured settings and the relevant service provider’s retention rules. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information we control. Because the App has no user account, we may need details such as the approximate submission date and feedback content to locate a feedback record, and some pseudonymous analytics data may not be reasonably linkable to you.
12. Your privacy choices and rights
- Control iOS tracking permission in Settings under Privacy & Security and Tracking.
- Choose not to submit optional written feedback or an App Store review.
- Remove local game data by deleting the App from your device.
- Use privacy controls offered by Unity, Google, Apple, Jotform, or Expo under their respective policies.
- Contact us to exercise applicable access, deletion, correction, restriction, objection, portability, or consent-withdrawal rights.
Your rights vary by location. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We may retain information where required by law, necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce agreements.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including Apple transaction verification and limited analytics event parameters. No device, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
14. Children
The Investor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through feedback, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or App Store listing when appropriate.
